Fistly visit this thread: http://forums.j600.com/how-to-contact-ebay-about-fakes-you-ve-bought-t13914.html

would it possible to tailor the rift super search so that the known rift fake sellers wouldn't be included in the search. its doing my nut in scrolling through all the sh*te fakes just to find the odd genuine rift Sad i looked through one ebay page earlier and rift zooms not included there were only 2 pairs of genuine rifts on it Mad

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

pawingpooch Mod edit 5/23/2007 @ 8:55am EST:

i made this a sticky so people can quickly access it and do their part in the war on fakes. also will be a good place to post the sellers responses so we can have proof of what excuses/lies the fake sellers are actually telling people, scroll down to read what proactive initiative j600 are doing about the situation.

Any seller on this list of known fake sellers needs a warning as they are the ones who will be submitted to the authorities for investigation: http://forums.j600.com/list-of-fake-sellers-ebay-id-s-t13226.html

This is the REVISED message which J600 members should send to fake sellers. Please note members, this is a serious issue. This is not an idle threat the reports WILL actually be sent to these departments! We will vet every report to ensure it is only fake sellers that are reported. Hopefully the warning will be enough but if not these fake sellers have sealed there own fate. I image lots will be liable for more than just fake selling and end up being prosecuted for tax issues and even benefit fraud.

This is the suggested format of the warning to send them before filing your complaint...

copy & paste:
I am not sure if you are aware but the 'Nike' Air Rifts you have for sale are fakes. This is a quick email to make you aware of this and to give you 48hours to cancel your counterfeit auctions. If your auctions are not removed within 48hours please be aware that I will be filing a report which will be sent to the following authorities:

1. Trading standards
2. Consumer Direct
3. Hewitsons (Nike UK's legal department)
4. HM Revenue & Customs
5. Department for Work and Pensions
6. eBay's VERO department

You may not be aware but there is a new system where we can automatically report you to ALL of the authorities above simply by entering your ebay username and item numbers. HMRC and Trading Standards do not accept ignorance as an excuse. You are literally 1 click away from being reported and then Trading Standards can take the matter further.

This is not a threat, this is the action that I will take if your counterfeit items are still listed in 48hours time.

the fake rift sellers are in for a BIG shake up shortly. my best advice for anyone selling fake rifts on ebay at the moment is to stop it now before it happens.

currently working on something that will combine an automated report to:

Nike UK's legal department (their solicitors)
Trading standards
Consumer Direct
HM Revenue & Customs
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

all at the click of a button (entering the sellers username and item numbers). not only are the fake sellers going to be in the sh*t with nike and trading standards for selling fakes, they are also at the same time being reported to the tax man and DWP (god help them if they are claiming benefits!)

like i said, my best advice to anyone selling fake rifts on ebay is stop it today as once this system is complete (and its not far away) these sellers are going to be in some serious sh*t (from all angles!)

helping ya out there ben - copy and pasted your note and added a line:

Hi,
These rifts, along with all the rifts you sell are 100% fake, and you know it. Unless they are removed, I am going to report you to Nike, as they are clamping down hard on fake sellers. You have been warned. Please remove your items now before its too late.

was able to e-mail 25 fake sellers before ebay said i reached my limit.

looking forward to that form ur making timmy. im gonna see if i cant contact nike here in the us and let them know whats going on (again) and what we are doing about it.

the more of us that copy and paste the above, the more they will realize theres a slew of us out there ready and willing to bring them down. i started from page 1 and got to around page 9. some can start from the last page (pg 16 - unbelieveable) and work back.

bastards are gonna pay...

from FUNKYMONKEY-BIZ:

Quote:
Hello, Seems a bit strange I received this exact same email from another member! As I told them, my supplier is Nike production factory and I have confirmaton of this as I looked them up. Please go ahead and report me to Ebay, they will only remove my listing and give me my fees back.
I have 100% positive feedback and have no complaints from customers!
I am reporting you for sending me abusive emails also.
Lisa

so i replied:

of course you got that e-mail from another member. and expect a lot more from even more members flooding in. your "nike" factory is in china - confirmation, what, you have maybe some "official certificates of authenticity"? ebay may do that, remove listing and give back fees, buts it not ebay you need to worry about. its Nike you will have to worry about. your customers are uneducated consumers who dont know any better (or idiots who dont care), looking for a cheap deal on snide shoes that will fall apart after a few wearings. of course you have positive feedback - they recieved what they got. soon they will find out the cheap crap you sold them, but by then nike will have shut you down.

**EDIT**:

reply from him:
Quote:
Ok, you have voiced your opinion. You obviously have nothing better to do with your life but send abusive emails to people trying to earn an honest living. If and when nike contact me, I shall give them all the details of my supplier. Until then, abusive little people like you, will not bother me.
Goodbye!

to which i replied:

I have plenty better to do, but one of the things i do in my spare time is help out in combatting sellers of fake rifts. there is NOTHING "honest" about earning a living banking on the idiocy of the uneducated consumer by selling them snide products. there will be more people "with no lives" who will bombard you with emails like mine. i have not voiced my opnion. i have voiced FACT. good luck in providing nike with genuine infomation from your so-called supplier.

feking idiot. PLEASE bombard this seller especially!!!!!!

**2ND EDIT:**

she replied:
Quote:
Thanks very much for your input.
When I do hear from Nike, I will provide all details that I have and suppliers details, I cant be more honest than that. If they turn out to be duds, then I will have learnt a lesson.
thanks for your advice.
Lisa

im a genuine ebayer who buys direct, sorry your a lowlife who buys secondhand crap instead of buying good quality from a geniune ebayer like me as you can see from my perfect feedback... now go ahead please report me along with everyone else on ebay who are selling genuine stuff. you are not going to get far as not only are you harrassing genuine ebayers but you are also making threats to me,,, so please dont contact me again...

to which i replied:

you buy direct im sure - direct from china selling cheap fakes for pennies on the dollar. i only buy real, GENUINE nike rifts. you are a fake seller peddling fakes rifts to idiot consumers who dont know a real nike from an horse's ass. your perfect feedback is only such because the buyers gave feedback before they will realize what snide crap you sold them. you will be recieiving more emails like the one i sent from more members fighting against FAKE sellers like yourself. i am not making threats, i sent you a warning. but you can ignore it, not my problem. when Nike comes down on you, thats where your problems will begin.

**EDIT**

mine are 100% genuine not from china so where you get that from i dont know.... you are an arse who should stick your neck in... do whatever you have too do. infact drop in my ebay and buy yourself a pair might make you feel better. bye for now

i replied:

china was just a guess - a majority of fakes come from there but its not the only country they come from. i am far from an arse - unless trying to get rid of fake sh*te shoes and save people from spending money on such crap makes me an arse. ive been to your ebay, and frankly one couldnt pay me to buy one of your snides. i feel MUCH better knowing my 20+ collection of REAL, GENUINE nike air rifts are, in fact, real and not snide crap that will fall apart after a few wearings. we are dead serious, and if we see that you are still peddling your fakes with 48 hours of the first e-mail, you WILL be reported. we gave fair warning - its up to you to heed it or ignore it and face the future consequences. and my email will certainly not be the last you hear of this. cheers.

**2ND EDIT**

1. Trading standards

We appreciate your compliance, and you will not be bothered once you have stopped selling the fake rifts. you may recieve several more emails like the one i sent from other members battling fake rifts. cheers.

Good work, these people need to be made aware though that these reports are going to be sent! I dont think they realise the implications of selling fake goods. If they did, they wouldnt wait for these to end then not relist more, they would end the auctions now.

Every single seller that does not remove items within 48hours of being warned IS going to be reported.

It will be interesting to see which ones take note of the warning and end their auctions early and which ones don't. Then check back next month to see if they are still around!

OK People - great to see 'some' of you are doing the work - however I get the impression that most members will be sat on there arses doing nothing. How long have we all been here complaining about fake rifts and the thousands of pounds that the fake sellers make selling this sh*te!

NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!

Don't just sit there and let other members do all the leg work, get off your arse and send a few mails to snide sellers, its very satisfying and you will know that every mail you send WILL make a difference. This will not work if we don't ALL work together.

So I address you all:

Rift Wearers/Collectors

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps its fate that today is the 23rd of May, and you will once again be fighting to rid Ebay of fake sellers.

We're fighting for our right to live and exist in a snide free world.

And should we win the day, the 23rd of May will no longer be known as a bog standard day of the week, but as the day when the rift world declared in one voice:

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on in our OG's!

We're going to survive!"

Today, we celebrate our Genuine Rift Day!!!!!!!!!!

what an arse.. heres what i replied:

well, your supplier is lying to you. i do not know you, but i do know fake nike air rifts when i see them, and all yours are 100% FAKE. and i dont think they are fake - i KNOW they are fake. the shape is wrong, the material looks shat, the sizings for the colourways are wrong. need i go on? we are VERY serious about fake air rifts, and will be reporting any and all fake sellers that dont take off their listings within 48 hours of our initial e-mail. and i assure you, mine will not be the last e-mail to you either. your feedback may be 100%, but only because your buyers are uneducated consumers who dont know better, but im sure they will soon know the crap quality after a few wearings. i only deal with fake rifts - tho im sure your timberland boots are also fakes if you get them from the same supplier.

If people say this you just need to reply and tell them that their supplier is lying and they are selling fakes. If they know for a fact they are genuine (which they dont) and in their heart of hearts won't be bothered about a visit from trading standards and would rather let nike and trading standards decide whether or not their supplier is lying then thats up to him. but if he wants to take that risk he's in for a big surprise when trading standards take his 'genuine' snides off him!

If he is happy to leave his auctions up, be reported to the authorities and let them decide the authenticity of his items then thats his loss (or should i say it WILL BE his loss - which he'll soon find out).

These sellers KNOW there items are fakes, and if they don't know that they are stupid as the majority of this crap is in colourways nike NEVER even produced. Within 5seconds of looking at a fake pair of rifts your gutt feeling (even if your not an expert) tells you something isnt right with them. The quality is terrible and he'll know he's selling fakes.

I've spoke to relevant authorities regarding their legal stance on the matter and they have said

"ignorance is NOT an excuse for selling counterfeits, it does NOT excuse you for participating in the illegal activity of selling counterfeit merchandise and a plea of ignorance will not stand up in court"

you might want to pass that message on to the seller.

i think we should just report them without warnings!

if we warn them they may/will just take them down and sell them somewhere else... and thats not really combatting the fake situation, its just moving it away from ebay...

if we go straight to reporting they will be taken an destroyed or whatever Smile

we need to give them a friendly warning as a quick fix to get this crap off ebay fast and stop people buying them. the complaint can take weeks to process. it is combatting the fake situation as if the traders cant sell on ebay they wont order them from their suppliers. ebay is the main arena these guys are peddling fakes. its not at bootsales or down the pub its ebay! they think its a safer place to trade snides, ooh they are in for a shock!

i just got a nice reply from a fake seller: armlsj10

"you are the 2nd ebayer to voice concerns over these rifts so i have got back to my supplier who has duped me with these trainers, i fully intend not to sell these and i was not aware that they were fakes before listing the items, i have been screwed by my supplier. you can check mt auctions but i garauntee that these rifts will not feature any longer."

enough with the threats, i have told you that i have no more left, i do not who you think you are e-mailing people out of the blue but if you want to take this any further i suggest a meeting with yourself to disscuss this matter, if these are fake they are without my knowledge, and do not question my integrity.

-funkymonkey-biz

There is no need to be so aggressive!
My supplier assures me he gets them from the Nike factory, I have never had any compaints from my buyers, as you can see from my feedback.
Go ahead and report me if you wish to do so, at least I will get my listing fees back.
Regards,
Lisa

As far as im concerned your a wind up as you cannot say something is fake by a picture.

Again, I dont think we need to be too agressive or rude to these people as some (yeh right) may genuinely not realise they are selling fakes. I think the message above isnt too harsh and its fair enough.

if they choose to be arsey with the reply its up to them but we are simply warning them what is going to happen (and it will happen). sending threats isnt really what we are doing here, if they think we are threatening them they havent got the point.

This isnt a threat, its a warning of what is about to happen to them should they not take action. I dont want members getting into arguments with fake sellers over authenticity etc. Its a simple matter, we know they are selling fakes, they know they are selling fakes. Before they know it, TRADING STANDARDS (and 5 other authorities) are going to know they are selling fakes. FACT

Don't go causing yourself headaches over it folks Wink Very Happy

ps. i've said this before but...

These sellers are in for a BIG SURPRISE! Thinking they are untouchable is just plain stupid which a lot them are about to find out.

I HAVE RECEIPTS GROW UP!!!! , THESE WERE PURCHASED FROM THE UKS LARGEST NIKE CLEARANCE DEPOT.

tee hee hee... yeah.. riiiiiiight Rolling Eyes :

i doubt you have a reciept, and i doubt more you got them from a clearance depot in the uk. no legit nike store would sell fakes, as yours so obviously are. but i noticed you no longer have any up for auction, so either my e-mail hit home and you knew you were caught, or you got more e-mails from members about them and were smart enough to remove the items. we will be keeping a watch, and anymore that are put up for auction we will report immediately without a courtesy warning. cheers.

Good afternoon.
Before you start to accuse people of selling fake goods, you will have to be 1000% sure, as to the goods I sell, they come from the US, from a major wholesaler of Nike, this wholeseler also sell's to the Nike outlet stores in Florida, infact that is where I meet him, I have only been able to get a few of the Rifts, this is my second batch, but if they go well I will get some more, but the question is how do you know they are fake? If you have not bought a pair of me, I do not sell them cheap the auctions start at $60. so I can asure you these are the real thing, If they were not I would have just ignored you completely, plus also if I had something to hide I would have not even returned this message, so go on do it, but please remember, if your not 1000% sure you could look very silly, it also looks like you are a buyer and not a seller, so remember, "us traders" look high and wide to get you "the buyers", a lot of good deals, we get bankrupt, liquidated and wholesale stock from everywhere around the world, this is my wifes site as there was a small bill problem with mine I am a power seller with a 99.4% feedback so I am a top ebay seller, I sell Nike and only Nike trainers, but also sell a lot of other items, I have been on ebay for over 3 years now and never had a problem with selling my Nike trainers, I have had only one pair retunred, so if all my customers are happy, I'm happy.
I hope this go's some why to, me answering your questions and also some why in convincing you that these are the real thing, not that I really have to, I sell on average 25 pairs per week, so thats 100 pair per Month with just 1 pair returned, I must be doing something right.
Kind rgards.
Chris from Ellenstrainers

dayum... my reply:

i am 1000% sure yours are fakes, the two colourways which i see you are selling are the two MOST FAKED ones out there. bagged socks are a DEAD GIVEAWAY. i live in florida, and i have been to the nike outlets, and i will tell you that they never have rifts in stock. if they did, its directly from nike from retail stores that could not sell them otherwise. your supplier is full of crap, as it seems you are too if you actually believe all that. and if these were real, they would go for more than double what you start them at - $60 for rifts is nothing. you have good feedback because your buyers are unitellegent consumers who cant tell the difference between fakes and a babboons arse. and they give you good feedback because they bought that the auction was - after a few wearings they will just fall apart from the sh*te materials. your "liquidated" rifts are most likely cheap snides from china that your supplier got for pennies on the dollar and ripped you off well and good.
